Hints
for Written Submissions
|
Solutions must be
word processed; each group member must be
identified as having word processed at least one
of the Minicase solutions. Use at least
1.25" margins. Use bold and italic fonts for
emphasis in preference to underlining. Pay
particular attention to the structure and layout
of your solution. There is no reason to type out
the question: it should be apparent from the
structure of the answer what the question was.
Make effective use of headings and sub-headings,
bullet points, different fonts, etc.
Spelling,
grammatical and typographical errors will be
penalized. Be as brief as possible consistent
with presenting a thorough and well-thought out
solution. Imagine that all the other groups, like
you, have developed good solutions; present your
solution attractively: you want me to read yours
first, remember it longest, and like it best.

Hints
for Classroom Presentations
|
All group members
must be actively involved in the classroom
presentation, and must use visual aids that they
have personally developed using POWERPOINT.
Handouts for me or for the audience are optional.
Manage your time carefully, especially as you
segue from one presenter to another.
A good way to
think about your task is this: you are not
required to entertain us; on the other hand, you
want to sell us a solution that you have
developed. If possible, interact with your
audience. You need to capture and maintain our
interest, to explain what your technical solution
is, and to persuade us to accept it. Our time is
valuable: use it wisely.
Practice in
advance; appear organized and confident. Be in
charge. You may be informal, but you must not be
casual. Relish the opportunity and enjoy the
experience!
And may the
force be with you . . .
